Fixed-Price Website Build With AI Automation: What's Inside the Contract

A fixed-price website build with AI automation built in means one contract covers the site, the WhatsApp and CRM flows that run behind it, and the ads that follow, quoted once instead of stitched together from three vendors.

Fixed-Price Website Build With AI Automation: What's Inside the Contract

Key takeaways

  • Meant quotes a fixed-price contract covering a website, AI automation and WhatsApp integration once, after a free 30-minute call. Projects start at $2,000.
  • A dev shop builds and disappears. An agency can't touch the code. A single fixed-price contract exists to close the gap between them.
  • Automation and marketing run as monthly retainers you can stop. They are never a percentage of ad spend.
  • Next.js suits marketing sites, apps and bilingual Arabic/English builds. Headless Shopify suits stores that have outgrown a theme.
  • PureNest and Saruest show two versions of the same build decision. One is a headless storefront on Next.js 14. The other is a bilingual Next.js site where Arabic is a first-class layout rather than a mirrored afterthought.

What a Fixed-Price Website Build With AI Automation Actually Includes

A fixed-price website build with AI automation is one written contract. It covers the site, the systems wired into it (WhatsApp, lead capture, CRM sync, invoicing) and a defined launch, at a price agreed before any work starts. At Meant, we set that price once, after a free 30-minute call, and it only moves if the scope does. Projects start at $2,000. There is no hourly billing, and the call costs nothing.

The contract names the deliverables: the pages, the templates, the integrations, the automations, the languages and the launch state. If it isn't written down, it isn't in the price. That cuts both ways, and it should. You can read more on how projects are quoted as a fixed price.

What's priced once, and what runs monthly

Priced once, in the build contract:

  • Design and development, in Next.js or headless Shopify
  • Integrations set up during the build: WhatsApp Business API, forms, CRM, payment and invoicing tools
  • Content support where it is scoped: copywriting, photography and film direction
  • Testing and launch

Run monthly, as a retainer you can stop:

  • Running, monitoring and extending the automations
  • Google Ads and Meta campaign management
  • Technical SEO and new conversion-focused landing pages

Some costs sit outside both. These include platform fees, WhatsApp message fees, hosting, domains and the ad spend itself, which you pay directly to Google or Meta. Shopify's own plans, billed annually, start at $29 a month for Basic, $79 for Grow and $299 for Advanced, with Shopify Plus on custom pricing. A good quote lists these so the total is never a surprise.

The Handover Gap This Structure Is Built to Avoid

The usual setup involves three vendors. One builds the site, another runs the ads, and a freelancer connects the forms to the CRM. Each is competent. None owns the result.

Why a developer and a marketer usually work for two different companies

A dev shop sells projects. Its incentive ends at launch. A marketing agency sells retainers, so its incentive starts at launch. It usually can't edit the codebase, or it has to pay the original developer by the hour to change a headline. These are two business models, with the site caught between them.

What breaks when nobody owns the whole stack

  • A new landing page needs a developer who has moved on to other clients.
  • Conversion tracking breaks after a site update, and the ads keep spending against bad data.
  • WhatsApp enquiries land on a phone nobody checks.
  • The agency blames the site, the developer blames the traffic, and you pay both while they argue.

We work as a studio and an AI automation agency in one, so the same people design, build and then market the thing. Nothing is outsourced.

The trade-off is size. We are a small team, not a large bench you can call around the clock. If you need that kind of scale, we are not the right fit.

Phase One: The Build, Next.js or Headless Shopify

Every build is custom code. We don't use templates. The choice is which foundation suits the business, and it is made on the first call, not halfway through. Our bespoke websites and headless Shopify builds follow one of two paths.

Next.js for marketing sites, apps and bilingual builds

Next.js website development suits businesses that sell a service, a product that isn't a cart checkout, or a tool. Professional services, fintech, energy and B2B all fit here. It handles fast marketing pages, logged-in portals and calculators in one codebase.

It is also where bilingual builds get done properly. Saruest is a solar and energy company working between Khartoum and Dubai. We built the brand and the website together: the Irradiance Peak mark, then a bilingual Next.js site where Arabic is a first-class layout rather than a mirrored afterthought. The site includes a home-and-business savings calculator and a hand-drawn footprint map on real geography.

Headless Shopify for stores that have outgrown a theme

Headless means the storefront customers see is custom software, while Shopify still runs products, inventory and checkout behind it. A headless Shopify build is worth it when a stock theme can't carry premium pricing, or when speed and design are costing sales.

PureNest's headless storefront is the example. PureNest is a luxury bedding brand entering the UAE. We built its storefront from scratch on Next.js 14 with the Shopify Storefront API. It has a complete catalogue, product pages, a slide-out cart, true right-to-left Arabic layout and a day-and-night mode suited to a sleep brand. It launched in a polished coming-soon mode, wired to switch on live Shopify selling when the brand is ready.

For benchmarking, published 2026 ranges for headless Shopify run from roughly $10K to $25K for a lean scope up to $60K to $150K or more for complex, multi-market or migration builds. The tooling is also moving. On 30 June 2026, Shopify and Vercel announced a rebuild of Hydrogen, Shopify's headless framework, to be framework-agnostic and runtime-agnostic. Ask any studio quoting you how that affects their stack.

Phase Two: The Automation Layer Built Into the Same Contract

Automation is cheapest when it is designed with the site, not bolted on afterwards. The forms, the product data and the order events already exist in the build, so wiring them up is part of the same job. Our AI agents and WhatsApp automation work sits in the same contract, with the same team.

WhatsApp Business API for enquiries and orders

WhatsApp automation runs on Meta's Business API, not the app on someone's phone. It handles order confirmations, enquiry routing, an AI agent answering common questions, and a handover to a person when needed.

It has its own running cost, and it changed in July 2025. Meta moved from per-conversation to per-message billing. In the US, marketing templates cost $0.025 each and utility or authentication messages cost $0.004. Service replies, where the customer messaged first, have been free and unlimited since 1 November 2024. Templates sent inside an open service window are free too.

Those are Meta's base fees. Business Solution Providers typically add roughly $0.003 to $0.010 per message on top.

Lead capture, invoicing and CRM sync

CRM sync means a lead or order is written into your CRM automatically, with no copying and pasting. In practice this looks like:

  • A form submission becomes a CRM contact, a WhatsApp reply and a task for the right person.
  • A paid order triggers an invoice and updates the customer record.
  • A missed follow-up raises a reminder instead of disappearing.

Where Make and n8n fit

Make and n8n are visual tools that connect apps without much custom code. They are quick to build and easy to hand over. When the logic gets complicated, or volume makes per-task pricing expensive, we write custom API integrations instead. The quote should say which you are getting and why.

Phase Three: The Ads That Follow, Priced Separately

The build is a defined object with an end date. Advertising is ongoing work with no natural finish, so it is priced differently. Google Ads, Meta, technical SEO and new landing pages run as a monthly retainer. You can stop it any month.

It is never a percentage of ad spend. A percentage fee rises when your budget rises, whether or not the work changed. That is why percentage of ad spend costs more as you grow. Ad accounts are opened in your name, so the data and history stay with you if you leave.

The phases connect. Click-to-WhatsApp ads open a 72-hour free-entry-point window during which messages in all categories are free. A team that runs both the ads and the automation can plan follow-ups to land inside that window. A team running only one of them usually doesn't know it exists.

How to Read a Fixed-Price Quote Before You Sign

A fixed-price website build with AI is only as fixed as the scope behind it. These checks apply to any studio's quote, including ours.

Questions to ask about scope

  1. How many page templates are included, and which ones?
  2. Which languages are included, and is Arabic a true right-to-left layout or a mirrored copy?
  3. Which automations are built, named one by one, with their triggers?
  4. Is the build Next.js website development, headless Shopify or a theme? Why that choice?
  5. Who writes the copy and supplies the photography?
  6. What is the launch state: live selling, coming soon or staging only?
  7. Who owns the code, the domain, the hosting and the ad accounts?

Frequently asked questions

How long does a fixed-price website and automation build usually take?

It depends on scope. A landing page with one automation is a different job from a bilingual headless store. The timeline is written into the quote alongside the price, so you know the launch date before you sign.

Can automation be added to a site that already exists, or only to a new build?

Both. We can connect WhatsApp, lead capture and CRM sync to an existing site, provided we can reach its forms and data. Building automation into a new site is usually simpler, because the events it relies on are designed in from the start.

What happens if the scope changes once the build has started?

The original price covers the original scope. A change is written up and priced before anyone builds it, and you decide whether to go ahead. Nothing gets added to the invoice afterwards.

Do I need a company registered in the UAE to work with a Dubai-based studio?

No. Most of our clients are outside the UAE, and the work runs remotely in English, Arabic or Greek. If you are entering Dubai, we can also handle company setup and licensing alongside the brand and the launch.

Is WhatsApp Business API free, or does it have its own running cost?

Service replies to customers who message you first are free. Marketing and utility templates are charged per message by Meta, at $0.025 and $0.004 in the US, and providers usually add a markup. These fees sit outside the build price.

What's the difference between a retainer and paying an agency a percentage of ad spend?

A retainer is a flat monthly fee for defined work. A percentage fee grows with your ad budget even when the work stays the same. Our retainers are month-to-month, and the ad accounts are opened in your name.
