Nimbus Finance offers fractional CFO and financial leadership to founders across the GCC, the UK, the US and beyond: a founder with Big-Four-calibre credentials and more than thirteen years across startups and SMEs. The brief was unusual for a finance firm. Not "make us look established". Make the site feel the way a founder feels before, and after, a real CFO walks in.
So the homepage opens in fog.
The concept
The first screen is a blurred field of the numbers and anxieties that keep founders up at night: runway, burn, the invoice that has not been paid, the investor update that is late. As you scroll and move your cursor, the fog resolves into one clear headline. That is the whole pitch, experienced rather than read: this is what it feels like when someone who understands the numbers takes them off your desk.
Everything after that is built to turn the feeling into a conversation.
What we built
A live CFO diagnostic
Instead of a contact form, the page flows into a diagnostic: three sliders drive a real-time runway gauge, a financial-health score and a CFO-style read of the numbers, written the way Nimbus would say it on a call. It ends in a booking. A founder arrives anxious and leaves with a number, a read and an appointment, in about a minute.
Three tiers and a fit filter
Fractional CFO work comes in sizes. The site presents three retainer tiers and a short fit filter, so the wrong-sized enquiry never reaches the calendar and the right one arrives already knowing what it needs.
The founder, and a card you can save
The founder's story sits where a corporate "about us" would be, because people hire a person. A digital business card with a downloadable vCard lives at its own URL, so a handshake at an event turns into a saved contact in one tap.
The automations behind the site
The visible site is half of the work. Behind it we wired the operations that used to eat the week: enquiry capture into the CRM, booking confirmations and reminders, document collection for new clients, and the recurring reporting that a fractional CFO otherwise assembles by hand. The result is the number that matters most in this study: twenty hours a week of manual work automated away, which for a one-founder practice is the difference between two more clients and none.
The stack
- Next.js with Framer Motion for the fog-to-clarity opening and the live diagnostic
- Concept, art direction, copy and the conversion flow, designed as one piece
- A booking flow at the end of the diagnostic, not a form at the end of the page
- Automations connecting enquiries, calendar, documents and reporting
- A digital business card with vCard at its own URL
What a finance firm can take from it
Professional services sites usually list credentials and wait. Nimbus's site does something first: it shows the founder their own numbers, then offers the person who can fix them. That is why the diagnostic converts, and why the automations matter: a site that generates conversations only pays off if the practice has the hours to take them.
