Sedrah Stories
A documentary house’s site, cut like one of its films.
Sedrah Stories is a UAE documentary production company that turns history, culture and heritage into cinema — research first, then the frame — for government, semi-government and private institutions. Seven films, from The Pledge Day, shot entirely on film, to Sirat Arzag and Wadi Wurayah. The site had to carry that seriousness without becoming a brochure.
So it is cut like one of their films. Seven chapters run on a timecode, from the opening at 00:00:00 to the end of the reel at 00:02:24. The hero is six frames of their own footage that advance as you scroll, inside a viewfinder with the record light on. The method is five stages on one line. The work turns on a drum, each film titled in Arabic and English. And every still has a second frame — drag across it and the set appears behind it: the crew, the light, the camera. Unbounded and Instrument Sans for the English, Amiri for the Arabic, a Next.js build. In progress.
